Design Notes
For antimicrobial peptides, they generally exhibit the following characteristics: ① Structurally, they should be cylindrical or helical, maintaining the molecule's hydrophilicity and hydrophobicity in shape. ② They consist of both positively and negatively charged amino acids, hydrophilic and hydrophobic amino acids, and are supplemented with amino acids that readily form helical structures to enhance antimicrobial peptide activity. ③ Increasing the quantity of positively charged and hydrophobic amino acids enhances bactericidal potency and endotoxin resistance.
